This contest is sponsored by Sun Drilling Products SUN’S 3RD ANNUAL RED LEOPARD CONTEST The Redfish’s unique identification mark is the single black spot on the tail, the “false eye.” Over the years more spots have emerged and in some cases the spots are so numerous that the golden body of the redfish takes on the identification of the “ Red Leopard.” Sun’s RedLeopard Contest is in search of the rat-red and bull-red with the most spots, regardless of weight, on a NOOFC legal size fish.
NEW THIS YEAR! NOOFC TOURNAMENT LEADER BOARD CALL CENTER You can call the SPOT HOTLINE 504-400 SPOT to see what’s leading in ALL CATEGORIES! If that Bull or Rat Red won’t make the leader board and isn’t headed for the grill … cut him loose and let him grow!
COUNTING THE SPOTS! Spots are defined as a single continuous area of black regardless of shape with a clearly identifiable border. Oddly shaped spots that appear to be a grouping of spots, but that have no separate border will be considered a single spot. The total number of separate identifiable spots on both sides of the redfish will be counted. The fish with the highest number of spots in each category will be declared the winner. The angler catching the fish will be awarded a $250 gift certificate.
