NEW ORLEANS OILMAN'S FISHING CLASSIC
1. All state, federal and local laws will be obeyed. 2. All participants must meet the eligibility requirements shown at bottom of this page. 3. Salt water fish categories may be taken in any area accessible by boat from Lafitte Harbor Marina (C&M). 4. Fresh water fishing will be restricted to the following area: Northern boundary -Louisiana Highway 18 Eastern boundary -Louisiana Highway 23 Western boundary -Louisiana Highway 1 Southern boundary -Tiger Pass 5. No fish may be accepted from or given to another contestant. 6. All fish entered need not be brought in by boat with the exception of Bass Stringer. Bass Stringer must be brought in by boat (trailering to and from approved boundaries will be allowed), and fish must be alive. 7. All fish entered must have been taken by rod and reel. 8. All contestants must have an NOOFC ticket and be registered in order to enter fish. Participants may win only one award per category. In Youth Division participants may win only one prize. 9. Fishing hours are from 6:00 A.M. on Friday until 1:00 P.M. SHARP Sunday. 10. NOOFC assumes no responsibility for any accidents, which might occur during the NOOFC. 11. No fishing behind locked gates. 12. Registration begins at 12:00 noon on Friday and will continue to 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the Lafitte Harbor Marina (C&M) in Lafitte at times listed in book. No ‘Fishing Ticket’ sales are allowed after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday. ‘Social Tickets’ may be purchased until 1:00 P.M. on Sunday. Fishing tickets can only be purchased by sponsors. * 13. Decisions of the Weigh master are final. Scales will be open to weigh fish during the following hours: Friday - 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Saturday - NOON to 7:00 P.M. Sunday - 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. SHARP, NO EXCEPTIONS
14. AWARD CATEGORIES: Salt Water Division Fresh Water Division Speckled Trout Flounder Bass (see special Bass rules) Bull Reds (over 27”) Sheephead Stringer Bass (see special Bass rules) Rat Reds (27” and under) Sea Cat (Gaff-Top) Sacalait Drum Perch
Youth Division (Less than 16 yrs.) Same as Adults, only no Stringer Bass 15. The use of Professional Guides by participants is allowed for salt water fishing only. 16. In order to enter fish, Participants must show weight master their NOOFC ticket and must also be present at the time their fish is weighed. 17. Door prizes will be awarded Sunday after the scales close. Winner must be present to claim door prize and only one door prize per person will be awarded. *Measurement as per LA Wildlife and Fisheries.
Changes in General Rules and Guidelines in Bold
ELIGIBILITY
Eligible persons are defined as follows: Employees of “Operating Companies” who are engaged in the exploration, drilling or production of oil and gas wells; also employees of companies who directly or indirectly furnish equipment, labor or service or a combination thereof to the “Operating Companies”.
At least 51% of a person’s annual income must be derived within the eligibility definitions stated above. (Employees of companies, such as Refineries, Chemical Plants, Gasoline stations, companies engaged in transportation of crude oil or refined products are NOT eligible!) A spouse and/or children of an eligible person are likewise permitted to fish and participate in tournament activities along with the eligible person. Retired persons who worked for companies that met the above eligibility definitions are also eligible.
All entries will be carefully screened to verify eligibility. The rules and registration committee reserves the right to refuse any application. The decision of the committee shall be final. Applicants may be required to furnish the committee with proof of eligibility.
